North Natomas Jibe and city leaders will celebrate the improved walking and biking connection with an October 26 ribbon cutting and community bike ride.

SACRAMENTO, CA, UNITED STATES, October 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — A newly improved crossing at Arena Boulevard is making it easier for people walking and biking to travel along North Natomas’ Jackrabbit Trail, addressing a longstanding gap in the trail connection.

North Natomas Jibe, Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes, Councilmember Lisa Kaplan, and the City of Sacramento Public Works Department will celebrate the improved Jackrabbit Trail Crossing at Arena Boulevard with a community ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, October 26, 2026.

A community bike ride will follow the ceremony, giving attendees an opportunity to experience the improved trail connection firsthand.

Previously, people traveling along the Jackrabbit Trail encountered an interruption at Arena Boulevard. Some crossed the median strip to continue their trip, while others had to detour to a nearby intersection before reconnecting with the trail.

The improved crossing provides a more direct connection, making it easier for residents and visitors to walk, bike, and travel more safely along the trail.
