CARLSBAD, Calif., Nov. 03, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Upper Deck, the worldwide leader in sports and entertainment collectibles, is innovating and elevating the bar on collecting experiences, introducing a new program that brings collectors closer to players than ever before. ‘2 of a Kind™’ trading cards are a matching pair that are split, where one is given to the NHL player and the other is a part of a set that can be collected from trading card packs. Collectors who pull a 2 of a Kind™ card will not only have one of only two cards in existence, but also a memento that is a direct connection to that player.

2 of a Kind™ is delivering a new level of the trading card collecting experience. It is a continuous set that will see an extensive 100-player checklist each year, connecting collectors and athletes across the entire NHL and NHLPA membership over time. The card fronts feature a metallic foilboard, with the back using a beautiful rose gold substrate. The 1 of 2 card will be gifted to each of the check-listed players, and the 2 of 2 card will be available for the public to collect. The 2 of 2 card in the 2 of a Kind™ program abbreviates to three twos (222), which often is referred to as having meaning of connection and unity.
2 of a Kind™ will debut as an insert in 2026-27 O-Pee-Chee® and can be collected directly from both hobby and retail products with no redemptions. 26-27 O-Pee-Chee® is scheduled to release around 2027 NHL All-Star Weekend.
